CBC/SRC ASSOCIATION BURNABY CENTRAL RAILWAY PICNIC, AUGUST 21, 2025
A perfect Summer day amid the beauty of Confederation Park and Burnaby Central Railway guaranteed a delightful setting for the annual picnic of the CBC/SRC Association on Thursday, August 21st. The team of railway volunteers including former CBC colleagues Joe Holman (Joe is also CBC/SRC Association President), Bruce Johnston and Tom Pruden, worked non stop to ensure continuous train rides throughout the afternoon. 43 adults and 19 children turned out to enjoy the trains and a picnic - some taking advantage of the barbecue on site - and the potluck table groaned with contributions for all to enjoy, ranging from appetizers and salads to fresh fruit and baked goodies of every description. A big THANK YOU from the Association goes to everyone for those tantalizing and delicious donations which not only the railway volunteers but all of us, were able to enjoy.
Thanks too to Bill Murray for sharing the photos he took throughout the day. Photos from Peggy Oldfield follow Bill's and Jim Nelson's will be added soon. If anyone else there took pictures, we'd love to share them as well!
