Bby Railway Picnic

It's picnic time -  Round up the kids, grandkids, great grandkids, nieces, nephews and all their friends to come and ride the miniature steam and diesel engine trains!  No children to bring?  Round up your adult family and friends and have the fun of being a kid again!

COME BY YOURSELF OR BRING A CROWD   -   ALL AGES WELCOME.  There are no age restrictions for riding the trains but please note that babies must be held by an adult and toddlers to age 6 must be accompanied by an adult.

The facility will be closed to the public for our private party so there's no shortage of space and the more who participate, the merrier it will be!  Adults and children alike will have fun riding the miniature trains around 2 miles of main-line track on the 7-acre site.

The entire afternoon, including train rides, is free although donations on-site are gratefully accepted by Burnaby Central Railway.  The railway is a registered charity, so any donations made by cheque payable to The British Columbia Society of Model Engineers will qualify for a receipt for Income Tax purposes.  A cash box will be available for deposit of both cheques and cash donations to the event.

If you've not been to this facility before, browse the website and have a look at the photos and information provided:  http://www. burnabyrailway.org

PACK A PICNIC, MAKE USE OF THE GIGANTIC BARBECUE THAT WILL BE ALL FIRED UP FOR YOUR USE, AND SPEND SOME QUALITY TIME WITH SOME OF YOUR FORMER CBC COLLEAGUES.

Pack your own picnic including whatever foods you want to barbecue (utensils are supplied at the park) and something to drink (f.y.i., there is a pop machine on site).

Bring a pot luck dish if you can so that every-one including  the volunteer railway crew can share. Have the fun of cooking on the Society's propane barbecue (BBQ tools are provided) which can handle 60 hamburgers (or any other meat/poultry/fish) at a time!  Paper plates, bowls, plastic cutlery, plastic cups/glasses and serviettes will be provided by the CBC 20 Year Association.

Rainbow Creek Station has washrooms that are wheelchair accessible.

Please confirm your attendance and the number in your party by leaving a message for Peggy Oldfield at the CBC 20 Year Association voice-mail at 604-662-6409 or sending a message via https://goo.gl/QNvaxu .

Don't miss this unique and fun-filled day for the whole family!
